The Ilwonsang Enshrinement Ceremony is regarded as a special ceremony in Won Buddhism. This ceremony is held with the inauguration of a new center, such as a temple. In this ceremony, we respect and celebrate the enshrining of Ilwonsang (one circle image) to establish the spiritual foundation of our beliefs and practices.

Since the initial establishment of Won Buddhism in the city of Houston, the temple was newly constructed in 2020. On October 23rd, 2022, Won Buddhism of Houston will enshrine Ilwonsang and hold an opening ceremony to commemorate this momentous occasion. With this ceremony, Won Buddhism of Houston aspires to practice mind study and cultivate spirituality with many individuals in the community.

휴스턴 지역에 원불교가 시작된 이래, 지난 2020년 새롭게 교당 건축이 이루어졌습니다. 이를 기념하고자 오는 10월 23일 원불교 교당에서 봉불식을 거행하게 되었습니다. 이를 계기로 마음공부와 영성, 그리고 건강이 조화를 이루는 휴스턴 교당이 되도록 더욱 노력하겠습니다.

"봉불식(奉佛式)은 원불교 교당이 새로운 환경에서

믿음과 마음공부의 표본이 되는 법신불 일원상을 모시는 의식을 의미합니다."

COLLECTION OF SPIRITUAL BOOKS

The Temple is operating a small free library for the public. It has a collection of books related to spiritual development, meditation, philosophy, Buddhism, and Won Buddhism, etc. The collection at the library was focused on understanding how to practice meditation and understanding the field of religious practice including Won Buddhism, spiritual inspiration and the meaning of life.
